Who writes this
This site is written and maintained by Jeongdo Kim, a working holiday maker in Australia — more about me here. I hold no financial qualification and I am not a financial adviser, tax agent or migration agent. That shapes everything below: rather than asking you to trust my judgement, the site is built so you can trace every number back to the organisation that published it.
Where our figures come from
Every rate, threshold and deadline on this site is taken from the organisation that actually sets or administers it — not from other blogs, and not from an AI summary of them. In practice that means:
- Australian Taxation Office (ato.gov.au) — the super guarantee rate, payday super deadlines, the super guarantee charge, unpaid super reporting, DASP eligibility and DASP tax rates, residency and income tax rates, Medicare levy rules, and the YourSuper comparison tool.
- Fair Work Ombudsman and the Fair Work Commission — the national minimum wage, casual loading, and workplace rights such as protection from adverse action. Award and penalty rates are deliberately out of scope; we send you to the Fair Work pay calculator instead.
- Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA)— super fund performance test results, which reach you through the ATO's YourSuper tool.
- Department of Home Affairs — visa status and the Certification of Immigration Status used in some DASP claims.
Where a page relies on a specific official document, we name it at the bottom of that page, including the date it was last updated by the publisher. If you cannot trace a number we publish back to one of these sources, treat that as a bug and tell us.
What we deliberately do not do
- We don't invent figures. If a projection depends on assumptions — investment returns, how long you work, your balance — we either show the assumptions or tell you to run your own numbers. We would rather give you an arithmetic you can check than a headline figure you cannot.
- We don't model award or penalty rates.Telling an award-covered worker they are "fine" on the national minimum wage would be actively harmful, because most awards pay more. Our minimum wage page checks the legal floor only and routes you to the Fair Work pay calculator for your real rate.
- We don't recommend super funds or any other financial product, and we have no commercial relationship with any fund.
- We don't give personal advice. Everything here is general information. For your own situation, contact the ATO or a licensed adviser.
How often pages are reviewed
Australian super and tax rules change on a legislative cycle, with most changes landing on 1 July. We review the calculators and guides against current official guidance when rules change, and every content page carries a "last updated" date so you can see how fresh it is. A page with an old date is not necessarily wrong — many rules stay put for years — but you can always check the date before relying on it.
Corrections
If we publish something wrong we fix it, and if the error would have changed what a reader did, we say so on the page rather than quietly editing it. Errors we have already found and corrected are worth knowing about: for example, an earlier version of our unpaid super guide said an ATO referral could be made anonymously. That was wrong — the referral asks permission to use your name, anonymity is a separate tip-off channel, and whistleblower protection actually requires giving your name. It is fixed in all four languages.
Found something that looks off? Email rlawjdeh123456@gmail.com or use the contact page. Corrections are welcome and we would rather hear it from you than leave it up.
Translations
This site publishes in English, Korean, Japanese and Simplified Chinese because the people most affected by unpaid super in Australia often search in their own language. Translated pages are not machine-translated dumps of the English: they are written for that audience, and they are held to the same sourcing rules. When we correct a fact, we correct it in every language.
How the site is funded
The site is free and carries no paywall. It is intended to be funded by advertising. Advertising never affects the figures our calculators produce, which sources we use, or what our guides recommend — and we do not accept payment from super funds, tax agents or employers for coverage.
The calculators run entirely in your browser. The numbers you type into them are never sent to us or to anyone else — see the privacy policy.
